Trevoh Chalobah Set to Take Over from Guehi in England Selection
Trevoh Chalobah emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first duo of brothers to play for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to be added to the England squad to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is due to join the national side for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has not yet been made public.
The England team have already secured qualification for next summer's tournament.
Chalobah earned his first call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against the Senegalese team.
In September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the team for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and additionally did not select him for the next October international break.
Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea debut in 2021.
Chalobah has featured in nearly all matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team third in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi sustained a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar last week.
There are expected to be additional call-ups to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both attacker Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) will withdraw from the squad.
