Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the star in the following the devastating accident.
